What People Are Saying…

Lauren came to Burke's offering her podcasting class and, later, Reel Creative's Movie Making.Word quickly spread and we found ourselves doubling her program offerings. Her enrollment boomed and nearly broke our registration the night it opened! Students were begging their parents to be let into her class. This is what I call a "good" problem, and Lauren helped me to resolve the issue by expanding her class offerings.

What makes Lauren’s work so impactful is her ability to merge media literacy, storytelling, and creative expression in a way that’s deeply student-centered. Her classes invite kids to explore who they are, express what they care about, and create something they're truly proud of, whether that’s a short film, a podcast, or a multimedia project. She creates the kind of environment where kids feel seen, capable, and inspired.

Lauren’s programs stand out for their student-centered approach. Her classes are designed to make every child feel seen, valued, and confident in their creative voice. Through hands-on projects that emphasize self-expression, collaboration, and creative risk-taking, students not only develop real-world media and art skills, they also grow socially and emotionally. These built-in SEL components are seamlessly woven into each lesson, helping students connect with themselves and one another in meaningful ways. I wholeheartedly recommend Lauren and Kid Creative to any school or organization seeking dynamic, values-aligned enrichment programming that truly resonates with children. She is a gifted educator, a reliable partner, and a shining example of how afterschool learning can be both joyful and transformative.

Lauren has a rare gift for connecting with children. She brings such creativity, warmth, and joy to everything she does, and her passion for storytelling is absolutely contagious. She has an incredible ability to meet each student where they are, encouraging them to take creative risks, express themselves confidently, and collaborate meaningfully with their peers. In my daughter's case, I’ve seen remarkable growth, not only in her technical skills, but also in her confidence and sense of self as a young actor and creator. She comes home energized after every class, filled with ideas and excitement for what they’re working on. That kind of inspiration only comes from a teacher who truly cares and knows how to cultivate a safe, fun, and engaging space for kids to explore their voices.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this beautiful note about your experiences with Eva. We are her biggest fans, and this was so incredibly touching to hear how she interacts with you and the class. Eva has loved taking your classes this past year. She was just lamenting again this morning that this was her last day with you before you move on. You will very much be missed! Thank you for the time you dedicated teaching the girls new skills and for providing this incredible creative outlet for Eva and others at Hamlin. Your gifted ability as a teacher and this class have been such an important creative outlet for Eva. She was diagnosed with mild dyslexia a couple of years ago, so while everyday school has become a bit more challenging as she gets older, it is these creative classes and teachers like you who really inspire her and remind her of her strengths. Thank you for providing that gift to her and bringing her so much joy! Best of luck to you on your next venture, we will miss you!

When my daughter first took Lauren’s class through ASEP, I figured it would just be a fun way for her to spend an afternoon. I didn’t expect it to turn into the highlight of her week. She and her friends loved it so much they begged me to keep going after the school year ended, so we did! All summer long they were in Lauren’s studio, making art, laughing, and creating things I know I’m going to treasure later on. I love that my kid has a place where she feels completely at home, inspired, and supported. Honestly, I wish I could sign up too.
